Are Versatile Men Really Just Bottoms?

Posted by | Sex | No Comments

Versatile men are pretty much the bisexuals of the gay world. They’re told they don’t exist, they get blamed for the spread of HIV, and everybody keeps pressuring them to just pick one and stick to it.

Wow. Actually, versatile men are treated a lot like bisexuals. I’m going to take a wild stab and suggest that it’s because people, no matter their orientation or identity, tend to get uncomfortable with the idea that someone can have interests in seemingly polar opposites. (But there are gay Catholics, right…?) Read More

Yoga Positions for Better Sex

Posted by | Sex | No Comments

You know what’s fun? Sex. You know what’s even more fun than sex? Well, okay, nothing. But yoga practices that can enhance your experience as a top or bottom should at least put a smile on your face. Better sex? Yes, please.

Health blogger Barry Eichner has most generously taken his time to do some research, find a couple of cute boys, and then take pictures of them posed in the yoga positions he found most suitable to enhance sex as either a top or a bottom. (The links are in the following two paragraphs. You’re welcome.)

What Does Your Fetish Say About You?

Posted by | Sex | No Comments

People have such a hang-up about fetishes. Or, at least, we do on the surface. We write articles obsessing over whether or not fetishes are “ethical.” We sneer, we poke fun, we pretend like we find certain acts so repulsive or ridiculous that they’re allowed to be chastised.

Forget that. If what (and who) you’re doing is in private and with consenting adults, then it really doesn’t matter what’s going on. As long as your fetish isn’t causing psychological distress or negatively affecting your non-sexual life, then you’re golden. You’re not depraved or sick or going to Hell. Rather, when looked at positively, fetishes can help you see what a cool person you are.

(Disclaimer: I’m not Freud. I don’t even come close. But I can come…and that makes me enough of an expert.) Read More

The 5 Greatest Movies With Gay Lead Characters

Posted by | Entertainment | No Comments

Movies with gay leads have really gained steam over the past few decades, but honestly, plenty of them have sucked. Perhaps they were written by straighties who wanted a lick of the ring without thinking. Perhaps the quality was poor due to low budgets that many true LGBTQ films are forced to work with. I don’t know. But I do know what I like, and the following 5 movies are some of the best out there with gay lead characters.

5. The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)

Okay, so we’re going to start things off by cheating. Dr. Frank-N-Furter is technically a bisexual, but this 1970s cult-fest is just full of too much queerness to not honor across the entire LGBTQ spectrum. It opened America’s eyes to the depth and breadth of sexual exploration, poking particular fun at straight, white, cisgender, suburban couples everywhere. The moral of this movie? Lulz. You’re doing it wrong. Read More
