New year, new look!

Are you one of those people who never knows what to wear to a certain event? I am! I don’t even know what to wear everyday….It kind of bugs me everyone assumes gay men just automatically have a fashion sense. Worse, because in my circle of friends we really are a bit superficial. Hate to admit it but it’s true!

It has taken me ears to figure out a simple strategy for always having something to wear to pretty much any occasion. Read More

Global warming and climate change. In deference to Leo Dicaprio’s major new important documentary Before the Flood, I thought I’d touch on something that we all hear a lot about but don’t know much about; Climate Change.

Just what is it and how does it affect you? When you are meeting people, whether searching for local singles online or anywhere else in the world of humans, a lot of people are talking about this. I mentioned it a bit in my last blog about Veganism and it is something that we all need to not only know more about but also to act on immediately. Sadly we have known about climate change for a long time but the big businesses that cause the most climate changing pollution are also the ones who have the most power. Read More

Vegan men are sexyyyyyy

Posted by | Lifestyle | No Comments

In honor of World Vegan Day November 1st, I thought I’d write about Vegans and what it means to be Vegan and why they choose to be so. When you’re searching a chat line for local singles, it’s important to mention your diet preference. Vegans usually can only tolerate being with other Vegans. Often people do say it is a personal choice, unfortunately; in this case, there are unwitting victims of that choice.
A Vegan is someone who eschews all animal products; leather, fur, meat, dairy and eggs. Generally for ethics, Vegans believe other, non-human animals are not here for us to use. They are simply here with us, on Earth, fellow Earthlings. Read More

Excuse me, is this your baby?

Posted by | Lifestyle | No Comments

NOT MINE! As you may or may not know I have chosen not to pass on my DNA. When millennials are asked if we want to make babies,   Most of us are vehemently shaking our heads NOOOOO!  When you are searching a chat line for local singles, it’s important to mention your status and ideas about reproduction.

NO NO NO. Read More

Turn Shopping into Stopping…to smell the roses!

We’ve all seen it, we’ve all done it. We see people at the mall, holding hands, strolling through acres of sparkly stuff from China…

Or at the grocery store, deciding what kind of mushrooms to get or if this soy milk has fewer carbs than that almond milk (go for the almond)

It’s a common enough scene but is it really a good relationship builder?

Money is after all the main reason people fight and break-up. Cheating is the second but that’s a tale for another blog, here on the riverbanks, with hammy and his friends.

But I digress. I am good at that. Read More

Pet me in the morning

Posted by | Lifestyle | No Comments

…afternoon….evening…any time…
yup, this blog is about pets! What were YOU thinking?

Of course my immediate answer is YES, YES, YES! But there are things to consider before you bring a furry dependent into your life.
First of all, are you homeless? I certainly hope you are not but if you are don’t get a pet! I get very pissed off when I see homeless people using a lovely furry friend to extort money out of kind-hearted people on the street. “Pets do not want to be homeless and sit on a hot city street with you and your guitar, or fires-sticks, or tambourine or slop-bucket and squeegee all day”; is what I say to homeless people with pets. Now of course if you are homeless and a dog comes along and hangs out with you because she is also homeless, and the two of you are just going from town to town and helping people….well now that is great. But that just never happens. It would be kind of like TV’S The Hulk meets The Littlest Hobo….well maybe there is something there. But that’s another story, for another time, like when I’m talking to TV producers… Read More

Tag Teaming Life

A while back I wrote a blog about why it’s great to stay single. So due to public pressure, heh, I feel I have to show the converse side; why being part of a couple is good for you.
Just to help you make the right decision for you!

So according to Florida State University in 2010, which observed 1,621 college students, single people have higher rates of depression. In fact, those with multiple sexual partners were even more likely to be depressed. So single and promiscuous are not the ingredients to a happy life after all, unless you’re James Bond…and who is? Even James bond isn’t really James Bond!
Of course, you may not be in a relationship in the first place because you are depressed. So it is a bit of a catch 22. Read More

Love is all around…

…no need to waste it…now an image of young Mary Tyler Moore throwing her hat in the air is going to be stuck in your head all day!
But what I really want to talk about is ROMANCE!
First of all, what does ‘romantic’ even mean? When I think of a romantic, the first thing that pops in my mind is Pepe le Pew, that amorous little skunk who falls in love with everything from a bunny to a cat, as long as it somehow, conveniently has a white streak painted down it’s back. Deus a machina. Let’s face it; some of us are just desperate to be in love.
Why?
But how did this notion of romance survive all these years of human evolution, societal changes and now with pornography so easy to access, just what is it about romance that makes us still crave it? Well first of all; it feels good! It colours everything pink and blue and purple and gives us the warm-fuzzies. It makes us feel life is a wonderful adventure and not just drudgery. Is it any wonder I want you all to feel some romance in your day-to day? Read More

Life changing things you can do today

Feeling rather stuck in a rut? Even though the new year starts in January, for me it feels like it really starts in the spring. In fact that is when we used to celebrate the new year in pre-Christian religions. Spring is when all the babies are born, the buds are bursting and maybe, you are itching for a fresh start too. Getting that degree in bio-physics has always somehow eluded you, but take heart! There is a way to change it up and you can do it today! Or at least make an appointment today for later in the week J.

My mum always said; “a change is as good as a rest” and since there’s never time to rest in our busy lives, let’s make some changes! Read More
